If you do put in wrong number three times the system locks. You must leave your key in the accessory position for 30 minutes. This will reset the system security and you have three more attempts. Also your car will run poorly if at all until the code is entered correctly.

You might have the codes located in your owners manual. If you dont, then try calling Mitsubishi and ask them for codes or where you might find them. I know when I take the battery out of mine the radio requires a code and you only get three tries to put them in otherwise you have to take the battery out then put it in again. Hope this helps.
