Antifreeze, or coolant, is poured into the radiator or the coolant reservoir of the engine. The radiator cap is usually located on the top of the radiator, while the coolant reservoir is a translucent tank connected to the radiator. Always ensure the engine is cool before adding antifreeze to prevent burns or injury. Additionally, check the vehicle's manual for specific instructions related to your car model.
you have a big problem
Do not run the engine. You need to drain out the fluid antifreeze mixture. You can then refill the power steering fluid.
you open the plastic bottle and pour in the antifreeze
Off!!
First DON'T START THE ENGINE If you start the engine the antifreeze will be in the oil filter also Drain the oil out of the oil pan Take some new oil and pour it into the engine a few times and just let it drain out of the engine oil pan Replace the engine oil pan drain plug and then put the proper type of engine oil in ( less the amount the engine oil filter holds ) If you haven't started the engine you should be okay
Don't forget 50/50 solution too What kind of vehicle? What size engine? You don't add antifreeze to the engine, anyway. There should be an overflow jug on post '85 vehicles and on pre '85 vehicles you add the antifreeze to the radiator only. Please check your owner's manual or ask your car dealer for further information.
To add antifreeze to a Saturn Ion, locate the coolant reservoir, which is typically a translucent plastic tank near the engine. The reservoir cap is usually labeled with a coolant symbol. Make sure the engine is cool before opening the cap, then pour the appropriate antifreeze mixture into the reservoir until it reaches the "full" line. Always check your owner’s manual for specific recommendations regarding the type of antifreeze to use.
Find where it is running out and repair the cause.
pour it into the overflow tank
bad water pump
I drive a 98 Wrangler. The antifreeze gets poured in a container to the right of the radiator. The radiator is the very first thing between you and the engine when you pop the hood. Open the container to the right, and pour in your antifreeze. Make sure you don't do this when the car is hot. Also, mine is yellowish and there is a line and the word "FULL" to denote how much antifreeze you should put in.
A mix of 50% clean water and 50% antifreeze is recommended in most climates. Add only when engine is cold.
