My Ford Explorer takes automatic transmission fluid for the power steering fluid so I guess it would depend on what type of vehicle you have and what type of power steering fluid is supposed to be used
in the oil filler tube
for this you will have to go to the dealer
I'm not a mechanic / technician but is your engine oil level going up I've heard that the modulator valve on the passenger side of the automatic transmission ( behind a heat shield ) can allow the transmission fluid to be sucked into the engine through the vacuum line if there is a problem with the modulator valve on Ford Explorers up to the 1994 model
In the reservoir at the lower left front of the engine.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe that is the transmission modulator valve on the passenger side of the transmission ( behind a heat shield ) I've heard if they are bad that the transmission fluid gets sucked into the engine through the vacuum line causing the engine oil level to go up and the transmission fluid level to go down
4 quarts go in the torque converter and 3 in the pan.
The power steering fluid for it is actually the transmission fluid. It should be Mercron. Is this suposed to go in the power steering chamber or the transmission chamber to work. The fluid in my 2006 Ford Escape XLT steering fluid tank is black.
I'm trying to find where the dip stick for transmission fluid on a 1997 Ford aspire is located
You need a new gear box (transmission)
The 1998 Ford Explorer was offered with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The manual transmission would provide more control over gear selection and potentially better fuel efficiency, while the automatic transmission would offer more convenience in stop-and-go traffic. The specific type of automatic transmission in the 1998 Ford Explorer would likely be the 4R70W, which is a four-speed electronically controlled transmission commonly found in Ford vehicles of that era.
