the camshaft sensor is located on the distribator,near back of motor-under distribator-cap.if not working usually causes back-fire and loss of engine power,as if running out of gas
The 1997 Chevrolet Malibu crank position sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. The rear engine cover will need to be removed in order to view the sensor.
They are screewed into the exhaust system / pipes. There about 4 inches long and have a electrical wire in the end of them.
