There should be an "Emissions Adjustment and Routing" label on the underside of the hood that shows a vacuum hose routing schematic and the location and name of the different emmissions control assemblies. It'll give you an idea where to look. On my '92 3.9L V6 the EGR is located on the top rear of the engine, between the throttle body and the firewall.
