THERE ISNT ONE THERE IS A PCV VENT LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE
On V6 models the PCV valve is located on the back side of the left valve cover. On V8 models the PCV valve is located on the top of the left valve cover.

Could be a leaking vacuum line or with the pcv valve. It is possible that the trannsmission clutch packs arent dissengaging properly causing it to stall. PCV valve is a likely culpret with idle and stalling issues. Start there first.

The 2001 Mercury Sable PCV valve can be found on top of the engine. The PCV valve will be on the back side of the air cleaner housing.
