It's underneath the air filter housing on the front right hand side of the engine bay (that's right as you face the car from the front).
It's a big black plastic box with large air hose connected to it.
To get access to the battery - for example, to remove it - you will first need to take out the air filter housing. This is not a difficult job, but it adds a little time and effort to replacing a battery, for instance. If you just want to make a temporary connection to the battery, jump-start connectors are provided behind the filter and close to the hood latch.
(A lot of jobs are more than usually complicated on the Cruiser, simply because the deisgners had to "fold things up" to get the Nova engine into the space... After all, this is the car that makes you take the engine intake manifold off, to change the plugs!)
