Darren, it appears to me that it is at the BACK of the hood on the driveplate, between the motor and tranny. It's a trigger and specialized sensor relocated and indexed to mimick the stock timing wave patterns the ECU receives while the crank is turning. This doesn't trick the ECU, but mainly lets it see what it wants to see. The trigger is designed around the stock driveplate trigger system. We relocate this to the crank pulley instead of the trans and driveplate. Sounds simple, but the size, location, sensor type and voltages are the biggest pains to overcome. If the voltages are not within the specs the ECU is used to seeing, you have misfire or the car simply does not start. If the wheel is indexed wrong, the car fires when it shouldn't and won't run at all. If the trigger holes are off, the ECU thinks the car driving down the road at 2000RPM or whatever it sees when you are actually sitting in the garage at 800RPM. www.exileracing.com
