Pretty sure that it is in front of engine directly above AC Compressor and to the right side of harmonic balancer of Crankshaft. It is mounted horizontally with 2 wires connected.
if it has a distributor, its in the distributor, if no distributor its at the front of the engine by the crankshaft damper
A CKP is the crankshaft position sensor. The engine computer uses that sensor to know the position of the crankshaft for fuel and ignition timing purposes. With out the ckp the engine will not run.
On the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder, there is one. On the 2.5 liter V6, there are two.
where is the crankshaft sensor location on a lincoln ls v6 2003
The crankshaft position sensor is mounted on the front of the engine near the crankshaft pulley . Looking from the front it is to the left of the crankshaft pulley and is triggered by the teeth which are machined into the crankshaft damper (Chilton) You can see it from underneath the Explorer
On the 1998 Ford Contour with a 2.5L V6 engine, the camshaft position sensor is located on the front of the engine, near the timing cover. It is typically positioned at the top of the engine, near the driver's side, and is secured with a couple of bolts. To access it, you may need to remove some components for better visibility and reach.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but on a 1998 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine : I believe the crankshaft position sensor is at the front of the engine When standing in front of the vehicle looking into the engine compartment it is just to the left of the crankshaft damper near the bottom of the engine
Front of engine, near crankshaft pulley on passenger side.
It's on the front of the engine. Look for a large, exposed gear behind the crankshaft pulley. The sensor will be almost touching that gear.
First of is it a 4 or V6???
