You can find the diagnostic socket on the bottom of the drivers side dashboard. The diagnostic socket will be on the right hand side of the steering column.
On the scenic II 2005 there is a flat storage area with cup holders between the front seats. In the centre is a rubber mat which lifts out displaying diagnostic socket.
on a W reg it's next to the fuses under the steering wheel to the right, there may be a cover or cap to take off to reveal it.
in my Renault scenic (2,0 16V, 2003) (not grand scenic) the obd2 socket is under the movable middle console. Move the console backwards and lift a plastic lid which appears under the console and you see the 16 hole obd2 socket. Eberhard

My Scenic is a 2001 model with a 1998cc motor. The engine type is F4R which has 4 spark plugs. The spark plugs use a 5/8" socket plug. You will need about a 15cm extension on the socket as the plugs are situated deep inside the engine.
