I have a 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 and just changed my fuel filter at 50,000 miles. The owners manual says to change it at 30,000 miles, but I think this is too soon. Any ways it is located in the rear, in front of the gas tank, just behind the rear axle. It didn't seem to have a lot of pressure built up in the lines, in or out, so it wasn't too messy. I took the gas cap off during the procedure, so that may have helped. Since I have a 2001 Grand Vitara, which is likely similar if not identical to the 2002 XL-7 (shorter body), and am facing the same problem, I will look under it. Fuel filters are often located near the fuel tank somewhere between the frames and I suspect this one is no different. An option and one worth pursuing if you do other maintenance work is to purchase either a Chilton or Haynes manual or equivalent. If you've really got the bucks, Suzuki probably publishes a mechanics manual. Anyone out there want to save the both of us some time and effort in finding where it's located?
The cabin air filter on a 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara is located below the glove compartment. It is changed by unscrewing the cover, taking out the old filter, and installing a new filter.
