If it's the stock L-motor, it would be a mechanical fuel pump located at the front passenger side of the head (all the 620 pickups were carburated with mechanical fuel pumps). Otherwise it was updated with an electrical pump and could be anywhere between the engine and the fuel tank. Most likely it would have been mounted on the frame close to the fuel tank.
In the early months of 1972, the Datsun 620, also know as the Yue Loong 753, was released and became popular in Japan, Production of the Datsun 620 ended in 1979.

The 1978 Datsun 620 pickup truck typically comes with a 2.0-liter L20B inline-four engine. This engine is part of Datsun's A-series family and is known for its durability and simplicity. Some models may have had optional upgrades, but the L20B was the most common engine for that year.
To repair the ignition system of a 1979 Datsun 620 pickup, first, check the battery and connections for corrosion or loose wires. Next, inspect the ignition coil, distributor cap, rotor, and spark plugs for wear or damage, replacing any faulty components as needed. Ensure that the points in the distributor are properly gapped and functioning. Finally, verify that the ignition timing is set correctly using a timing light to ensure optimal engine performance.
