Why in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee AC Clutch will not engage. relays good fuses are good but no power to clutch and yes there is power at the clutch relay?

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH IS BAD. CHECK ON THE LOW PRESSURE SIDE. IT IS EITHER ON THE LINE OR MOST USUALLY ON THE ACCUMULATER (DRYER). UN-PLUG THE PLUG FROM THE SWITCH AND CUT A WIRE ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG. STRIP THE WIRE ON BOTH SIDE AND PLUG THE WIRE IN ON EACH SIDE OF THE PLUG WHERE THE SWITCH PLUGGED IN. TURN THE AIR ON AND SEE IF THE CLUTCH KICKS IN. THIS IS DONE TO BY-PASS THE SWITCH, WHICH IS WHAT KICKS THE CLUCH IN. IF THE CLUTCH KICKS IN, THEN BUY YOU ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SWITCH.

1987 jeep Cherokee 4.0 liter starts and runs till the clutch is engaged why?

Look all around the clutch pedal to make sure there are no loose wires being rubbed when the clutch is being engaged. If an important wire is being grated on by the clutch, it may be grounding it out, causing your jeep to shut down. I have seen that happen, so that may, or may not be your problem. Good luck.

To jump the ac compresson on a 1995 grand prix to service the ac how do you do that?

There are two wires connected to the clutch pulley at the front of the AC compressor; one is the negative ground wire and the other is positive power to activate the electric clutch. Run a wire of at least 12 gauge (solid insulated house wire or lamp cord is perfect) from the positive battery cable to the positive AC supply. I don't know what the color code is but quickly and lightly brush the jumper on a bare patch on one of the wires. If you get sparks but no sound try the other. The right wire makes the clutch activate with a loud click or "Snap"; assuming it is working properly.

Replace the positive battery cable on a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM?

Disconnect both battery cables. Follow the positive cable on the 2000 Grand Am to the other end, looking at how it was routed. Remove the wire connection, and pull the wire out. Instill the new wire through the same routing, then reconnect the cables.
