The vacuum cut by-pass valve is typically located in the vacuum system of a vehicle's engine, often near the intake manifold or connected to the vacuum lines. Its purpose is to regulate the vacuum pressure within the system, allowing excess vacuum to be released to maintain optimal performance. This valve plays a crucial role in various engine functions, including emissions control and improving fuel efficiency.

This usually indicates a faulty Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vacuum Cut Valve/Bypass Valve.1. Verify battery voltage to the EVAP vacuum cut valve bypass valve on the Black/White wire with the key ON.2. Verify the Green/White ground wire for the EVAP vacuum cut valve bypass valve is good all the way to the ECM. The Green/White wire goes to terminal 117 on the ECM.3. Verify the EVAP vacuum cut valve bypass valve is closed (can not blow through it by mouth) when the EVAP vacuum cut valve bypass valve is de-energized.4. Verify the EVAP vacuum cut valve bypass valve opens (can blow through it by mouth) with the valve powered up and grounded.5. Check the EVAP vacuum cut valve to verify it allows flow only one way.

it is located above and away from the egr canister under the driverside rear bumper it is round and hav about 3 hoses connected to it. if it is from a check engine light that says look at vacume cut valve check the egr canisters purge valve some times they stick and throw the wrong code

A vacuum cut valve on a Nissan Frontier is typically a small, cylindrical component that is part of the vehicle's vacuum system. It is usually made of plastic or metal and features a few vacuum lines connected to it. The valve operates to control vacuum pressure in the intake system, helping regulate air flow for optimal engine performance. Its appearance can vary slightly depending on the model year, but it generally has a simple, functional design.
It is under rear in back of xterra under the spare tire next to evap can.
This part is located behind the driver's rear wheel, just above and to the right of the evaporator canister if you email me at lupro1@aol.com and I will send you drawings and photo of the part.
Troublecode P1490 means: EVAP Vacuum Cut Valve Bypass Valve Circuit Malfunction
If it is like my 2001 Nissan Sentra, there is a cover behind the drivers side tire. It bolts on in the front and 2 quills click into the charcoal cannister. The cover comes off and the white plastic piece is the vacuum cut valve bypass valve. Nissan price $140.00-Wilton Nissan. I also did as recommended, and replaced the valve on the cannister, and the solenoid -the bolt on the canister broke as is evidently common. Replace cannister. Whole job (I did the labor) about $600.00
