no i dont think it will they are totally different shape

If it is a mk1 try checking the fuse or the bulbs, my clio had the same problem. I checked the bulbs and the fillaments were fine but the bottom of the bulb had corroded away. The solution new bulbs!
501 capless bulbs
The VW polo has headlight bulbs. If the headlights are not working, it may be a bulb has burnt out.
Before replacing the headlight bulbs on a 1997 Acura CL prop the hood open. Locate the headlight housing and remove the old bulbs. Install the new lights.
To change the time on a Clio MK3, turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Press the "Menu" button on the dashboard, navigate to the "Settings" or "Clock" option, and select it. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the hours and minutes, then confirm your settings. Finally, exit the menu, and the new time should be set.
9004 Headlight Bulbs
The only headlight relay I can find is for the Clio II from 1998 onwards This is in the fascia relay box, relay no8 This controls the low beam with the daylight running lamps.
The headlight assembly (aka the headlight bucket) is removable by releasing the lock tabs behind the assembly. Once the assembly is wiggled out in the open you can easily replace the bulbs.
