The firing order of a small block Chevy is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. If you are standing in front of the car looking at the engine the driver side is 1-3-5-7 and the passenger side is 2-4-6-8. The distributor turns in a clockwise position. You'll need to find where the #1 cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke. Lift off the distributor cap....the rotor will be in position to fire #1. This is your starting point.
The spark plug gap is .060.
