fan is not turning fast enuff to suck air over engine

Actually the engine overheats at 245'F and if your not going over 30mph the cowl induction cooling (ram air duct under the front bumper) collects only the air the fan draws but down the highway the fan rarely runs because the cowl keeps the engine at a cool 200'F also the fan does not run until 240'f . but SLP ( the SS people) say that a cooler thermostat, an electric water pump and better collant will help reduce the peaking i know because my 93' T/A does the same thing and i called slp for answers either way GM designed it that way and it works pretty well so long as the pump holds up

Why is a Highway called a highway?

i not sure why a highway is called a highway but a highway is a main road connecting to main city's. It originated as a word for Roman roads, which in the middle ages were the main roads and of much better construction than contemporary ones. One major difference in the construction of Roman roads was that they were raised in the center (i.e. high) to improve drainage whereas the majority of contemporary roads were flat as it simplified construction.

What was the first coast-to-coast highway across the US and was it a US or Interstate highway?

The first coast-to-coast highway across the United States was the Lincoln Highway, established in 1913. It was not an Interstate highway; rather, it was a network of roads that connected New York City to San Francisco. The highway played a significant role in promoting automobile travel and the development of road infrastructure in the early 20th century. The Interstate Highway System, established later in 1956, was a separate initiative aimed at creating a network of high-speed roads across the country.
