yes, my 2000 grand prix gtp is losing power and makes ticking noise.
Starter motor, Flat battery or bad earth cables are the prime suspects
If it makes the ticking sound and the engine will not crank, then either your battery is dead or the starter solenoid is shot.
Oil slow getting to the head
Not enough power to starter motor.
Does it turn over? When you try to start the car can you hear a ticking noise? If there's ticking it could be your battery or alternator but if it doesn't tick it's probably your starter.
Dirty or loose connections or a bad starter.
Sounds to me like HOT exhaust cooling down.
possibly you need a better grade of gas?
Usually insuffucine power to starter caused by bad or undercharged battery. Try jumping it. You might need a battery or alternator. A bad starter can also do this. Many parts store can test for free and all repair shops can test for you but might charge a few dollars.
The cool water hitting your piping hot exhaust makes the metal contract (Shrink) and it makes a ticking noise.
It could be a sticking hydraulic lifter or valves that are slightly out of adjustment.
