The problem is probably your wheel rod, try turning your wheels all the way into one direction and check the rod behind the front wheel. If you cant see much or you see something is broken then raise the car and take a wheel off and check if the connector rod is stable or rusty or if any bolts are loose if they are then you can still drive the car but its recommended that you go to your local auto zone or other car accessory store. And just replace them, don't go to a mechanic they will rip you off.

Can you drive a car without power steering working?

Yes, but it should be looked at as soon as possible. This is because it is a safety hazard. Vehicles that originally had power steering installed and then it fails does not drive like a vehicle that never had power steering. There is s direct relationship between the speed (or movement in reality) of the vehicle and the ease of turning it without power steering assist (or when your power steering is disabled). If you are at a stop for instance, turning the wheel is much more difficult then a moving vehicle and turning it and this should be taken into account when driving a vehicle without power steering.

Why did the turn signals on your 1998 jeep Wrangler quit working not a fuse?

if you mean turn signals not returning to neutral (turning off automatically) it is called a clock spring and requires the removal of the airbag and some steering components to replace. If I remember right the part was $150 or so. I was told this was a common problem.

Why is your Lincoln LS 2000 steering column not working?

If you mean the CONTROLS on the steering column (audio and cruise control buttons) are not working, there is a module buried deep within the steering column that allows the wiring from these controls (as well as the airbag) to maintain their connections to the vehicle circuitry even while the steering wheel is turning. It is called a "clockspring", and it's a bear to replace. Runs $350-500 at the dealer. This problem is very common to the LS.

What causes 1989 Chevrolet to stall when turning?

There's a high pressure switch on the power steering line that activates when the steering wheel is turned all the way in any direction. This activates the AC compressor, which raises the RPM's. If the switch is not working, then the vehicle could stall.

Steering wheel volume control on Lincoln ls?

It will stop working along with cruz control, voice control, and volume when the wires on the clock spring wears. The clock spring holds all the wiring going to the controls on the steering wheel and allows the steering wheel to turn without damaging the wires. The clock spring makes everthing run smoothly in terms of the wheel turning. The clock spring is located under the plastic on the TOP of the steering wheel. You will find all the wires are connected to it. It usually goes out after years of turning and wear and tear.
