1995 MonteCarlo i have heat when car is idle but when you put in gear and you give it gas has no heat any thoughts i have already had the head gaskets replaced and the heater core flushed but still no heat
Speedometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge.
If the temperature gauge is reading below normal operating temp after driving a little while it may be that your thermostat is stuck open. I replaced my thermostat and it fixed mine.
at the beginning it will be cold, but it will warm up as you start driving
Usually the gauge in on the dashboard with all the other gauges. That way you can read it while driving.
It depends on the setpoint of the thermostat.
Yes it can depending on driving conditions.
The temperature gauge in a vehicle can fluctuate while driving due to changes in engine load, speed, and coolant flow. When accelerating or climbing a hill, the engine generates more heat, causing the gauge to rise. Conversely, when coasting or driving at lower speeds, the engine may cool down, leading to a drop in the gauge reading. Additionally, variations in the cooling system's efficiency, such as the operation of the thermostat or the radiator fan, can also contribute to these fluctuations.
Sounds like it is low on coolant.
Your low on coolent! system set up to protect engine first so routs coolent away from heater.
replace temperature gauge
There are several reasons this could be:There is no coolant in the engine to trigger the temperature gauge, this will cause complete engine failure very quicklyThe gauge, wiring or sender are badThe engine temperature control thermostat has jammed open or it has been removed.
Sounds like it could be a bad thermostat - not closing to allow engine to heat to normal operating temperature
