it is the powering steering pump and or PS fliud leak
I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like you are low on power steering fluid, check it out...
Answer The sound you hear could be a Wheel Berring and if I were you the first chance you get I'd take the car into a garage for a check up. Today we tend to drive fast, the last thing you want to happen is to have a wheel fall off and that could happen if the problem you have is a bad wheel berring.

The circuit breaker on a 2007 Audi A3 is to the left of the steering wheel. To find it, open the driver's side door and locate the box just inches from the steering wheel.

That noise you're hearing is most likely the wheel bearing. The noise stops because the bearing isn't in motion. As soon as you put the wheel in motion the noise returns due to the bearing being bad. It's a common problem across the board on most Audi's!
Something to do with steering wheel lock most likely in the column. Wriggle the wheel as you turn the key. Sometimes helps.
There is an access panel down and to the left of the steering wheel. (USA Model)
could be a center support bearing or a bad engine mount. i would check those first.
The hazard relay is the turn signal relay as well. The grinding noise is actually the relay buzzing trying to engage. Mine made the noise occasionally and now the turn signals do not Work at all. TIME TO REPLACE THE RELAY.
