The airbag warning light is indicating the airbag(s) may NOT be functionig. As it says in the manual, "Ignoring the AIRBAG warning light in your instrument panel could mean you won't have the airbags to protect you, (or your passangers), in a collision...have the airbag system checked RIGHT AWAY." Always wear your seatbelt!!! On my 2004 there is a light on the passanger grab bar that indicates the passanger airbag is off. This happens when a child is in the seat to protect the child from the sudden force of an airbag. It can also be fooled by a package or briefcase on the seat. This is normal. When an adult sits on the passanger side the light should go off. This information was an addition to the 2004 manual.
By having a professional repair the problem that has set the warning light in the first place.
Seek professional help. Not a DIY repair for a novice.

Diagnose and repair whatever is causing the fault that the light is warning you about. The airbag cannot and will not function while the light is on. Since the airbag is explosive and could be triggered accidentally while servicing it, this is not something for the typical DIYer to tinker with; Leave it to a professional mechanic with the appropriate certifications, tools, and skills.
The airbag light stays on when the computer has detected a malfunction and set a code. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool and repair the failure. The light can then be reset.
You don't. The light is on because there is a problem and will remain on until the problem is fixed. When the problem is fixed the light will go out by itself. As long as the airbag light is on the airbag won't function if needed. A common problem with an older vehicle is the "clock spring" goes bad. All or some of the electrical items located in the steering wheel like the horn, cruise control and airbag stop working when the "clock spring" fails.
For the airbag light to turn off, you'll need to repair the cause of the airbag malfunction, or disable the airbag by using a BMW scan tool or other software.
The airbag light stays on when the computer detects a malfunction and sets a code. The fault needs repaired and the light will shut itself off.
You would have to take it to a Ford dealership so they could diagnose why the airbag light is on. It is not something that you would want to do yourself.
The airbag computer has detected a malfunction and set a code. You need to take it in for service with a trained technician. The airbag system is not the place for do it yourselfers.
This airbag issue is part of a recall by Mazda. You should contact your dealer.
Usually an airbag light blinks to signal a problem. The number of blinks tells the driver the code number, which informs the driver of the problem.
