over 40mph.. either bad tires or need to be balanced and possibly alined.. speed bumps, that might be your shocks. to check your shocks push firmly downwards on the front and if if bounces more then three times.. lol you prolly wanna get some new one.. same for the back
check your wheel bearings and if they're ok check your cv joints by jacking up the front of your car and rock your tires forward and back to see if they clunk or shake pretty good
Do not go over 40mph or your engine will rev to high and be damaged
There are a few different things which could cause wheel shaking and thumps when hitting a big bump. The most likely cause however, is that the struts need to be replaced.
It actually can be from the rear axle being too low to the ground. The back of the car hits the speed bump. That was the case with my bro's car anyway
It depends on the gearing of the car. If you are in the highest gear and 40mph in that gear is under the idle rpm of that car than you will stall.
58.6ft. per second
If your 2006 Malibu will not go over 40 mph it may be stuck in "limp home mode." You will need to have the car checked out by a mechanic.
assuming it is a car that should be capable of going over 40mph it could be many things: - bad gasoline - bad spark plugs and or spark plug wires - clogged air filter - transmission problems - engine problems (compression issue, dead cylinder) - clogged fuel filter - damaged catalytic converter (restricted exhaust)
