You could be hitting the flash feature on the turn signal arm when you use it.
One of you signal lamps is probably burned out. Turn on the signal and walk around the car, bet-ya you find one turn signals isn't lighting up. Some times it is a bad connection at the bulb. The bulb sockets are cheaply made.
Turn signal indicators are lights. The flash to tell you, or indicate, that a turn signal is on, and which way the lights are flashing.

You need to replace the turn signal bulb. When bulb is burnt out the turn signal will flash faster.

Your turn signal probably is not flashing because the turn signal lightbulb is burnt out. You could also have a loose wire on the turn signal.
The turn signal flasher is what makes the noise and lets the turn signal flash.
