ticking sound in engine is usually not caused by a timing belt ticking is usually caused by worn cam shaft or clifters most cars now have hydraulic lifters. if oil is low it will cause ticking. if a lifter is worn it will cause ticking these should have been ckecked for wear when replacing timing belt

It is the white reservoir with the black cap located on the right top of the engine.
It is on the front of the engine, between oil pan and radiator.

Could possibly be a bad lifter.
Check the oil. Failed lifters/rocker arms would not be uncommon.
the VW Routan is a Chrysler/Dodge minivan all the way down to the engine options. The only thing VW changed was the suspension and looks and they didn't get the stow and go option either. So you can check out the mileage for the Chrysler product as well.
There should be a factory diagram sticker under the hood
Usually it's the lifters in the engine making that noise until they become fully pressurized with oil, then they stop ticking, like on the 3 liter caravans.
