This can have many causes.
A faulty battery.
Some equipment constantly being on in the car will drain it.
(Can be a stereosystem that is wrongly connected to power.)
Could be some faulty wires from the battery to the rear (or other places).
If wires are lying in some water with bad insulation, then this can be a cause.
If water and faulty insulation on cables is the problem then this need to be fixed as fast as possible as it will eventually destroy the area where the current flows.
It might even cause heat and possibly fire. Would not want that.
No, a bad ground will not drain the battery. A dead cell in the battery will most certainly drain it. If it has a dead cell it must be replaced. Also any light that is on will drain it. Lastly a stuck relay will run it down.
Sure, connect anything to the battery that will use power.
Might be a defective voltage regulator (not opening circuit on shut-down) Or a bad stator. (if the battery doesn't charge at all.) Or an electrical short.
Every time you run an automobile battery down, you cut the life of the battery. These batteries are not designed to be run down. They are designed to hold a charge continuously. Run the battery down three or four times and you will ruin the battery.
Either the battery has a dead cell and needs replacing or something is on pulling power from the battery.
Cold weather can drain batteries because it slows down the chemical reactions inside the battery, making it harder for the battery to produce and store energy. This can reduce the battery's overall capacity and performance.
It can allow the drain to block easier. Take the trap off the sink drain and remove it
There's a parasitic drain somewhere.
Yes possible. If switch does not open on engine shut down battery will drain If switch does not close on start up battery will not charge
In addition to acutally driving the car, using the little features such as the lights, horn, radio, and air conditioning/heating will drain the battery of a car. Also a dead cell in the battery will cause it to run down overnight. And if something is on such as a dome light, under hood light, trunk or glove box light. A stuck relay will also run the battery down.
Yes. More so if it is connected. Most vehicles today put a parasitic draw on the battery that will drain it down over time. Parasitic draw should be under .050 mA.
Either the battery has a dead cell and is pulling the others down after sitting for awhile or there is a drain on the battery from something that is on. Something such as a glove box, trunk, under hood, or dome light. If the battery is over 3 years old, or has been discharged many times, suspect the battery needs replacing.
