Sounds like the float in the carb is stuck closed or the main jet in the carb is plugged.Take the spark plug out and pour a small amount if gas in the engine put the plug back in and see if the engine starts for a shot period of time,if so then its in the carb somewhere
my 5 hp craftsman rototiller is not getting gas it will run when you dump gas in the breather but stalls after that. put a new diafram on the carb it will be on the left side 4 screws
Clean out the carburettor and jets, clean or replace the fuel filter.
In the body, the diaphragm is a curved sheet of smooth muscle which separates the thorax from the abdomen. When it contracts, the diaphragm flattens, which INCREASES the volume of the THORAX, which then EXPANDS the lungs. Contracting the diaphragm therefore is associated with breathing IN, NOT OUT. In Birth Control, a diaphragm keeps sperm from getting to your cervix and uterus and making you pregnant.

A diaphragm is a silicone or TPE dome that is inserted into the vagina and hooked over the pubic bone so it sits under the cervix in order to stop sperm getting into the cervix. The diaphragm has to be fitted by a doctor to make sure to have the correct size, but the woman inserts the diaphragm along with spermicidal gel before sex and it stays in for a few hours after sex.

Spray some ether in the carb. If it fires, it has spark, but not getting fuel. start there.
