i had a s10 several years. eventually, it would idle bad. as time went on, it would go dead at stops. i used cheap injector cleaner 2 times with no result. i purchased the most expensive chevron cleaner and it cleared up. also, there should be an idle air speed solenoid which could have a problem on your vehicle. if it idles lopey, it could even be a vacuum leak. i had a f150 which loped. after 2x in the dealership and 600.00 later, i myself, found a vacuum leak because it made a high pitched whistling sound in cold temperatures.
does the engine have a carburetor or is it fuel injected? A carbed engine has mixture screws along with a base idle screw, a fuel injected engine the idle is computer controlled.
May be controlled by computer and non-adjustable
Well FORD is a pos, Fixed Or Repaired Dailiy Found On Road Dead
probably a bad idle air controller.
sexo
Modern fuel injected cars, no.
If you have a carburetor, there is a crew on the driver side behind the throttle cable it usually has a spring on it if you turn it to the right it idles up left it idles down If its a fuel injected motor idle is handled by the computer. There usually is a "base idle speed" around 800-1000 RPM. This normally doesn't need to be adjusted. Have a look for carbon build up on the butterfly as well, this will influence idle too.
fuel injected or carburetor?injected - the idle can be adjusted via a diagnostic computer.carb - you can adjust the idle under the carb very easily.
You probably can't. fuel injected cars have the idle set by the ecm.
Turn the idle nob on the ecu counter clockwise a little until you get the idle you want.
35-40 psi while engine is off. 28- 35 psi at engine idle. -jonny b.
all depends if it's carburated or fuel injected.
