chances are your anti-theft security has been set, or if you have an alarm it has set itself so the engine will not run. try getting ahold of your dealer and have them walk you through the procedure to reset the system. most common way is to lock your door manually. then in the driver side door, turn the key left, right, left, right, left, right, then get in the car and try starting it, this may solve the trick. and future reference, only replace the battery if you have a memory saver available, if you do not take it into a garage to have it replaced, it may cost more, but it will save you time and money in the long run if something goes wrong.
Check your battery post to make sure u have a good connection
A Montero may not start if the battery is dead or power is not reaching the starter. Both can be readily diagnosed by a local mechanic or dealership.
fuel pump and pressure
I would start by checking the battery and fuses.

disconnect the positive connector on the battery
If its standard then more than likely its the clutch.
Check the fuses under the hood. You probably have a main fuse, like one that says battery or starter, that is bad. Good Luck!!
Sure
Your question is unanswerable as it is. What are you trying to ask? There are many things that can be wrong if it does not start, or there could be nothing wrong with it in the first place.
Yes, it could. If the battery gets too low it may not start.
