Actually the oils that are designed for vehicle engines does in fact flow easily.

Try this test. take a tablespoon of 5-30 oil and pour it on a piece of glass that is laying flat. Note how far it will travel / migrate on the surface. When the oil is heated, it travels faster, further and better to keep a car engine lubricated.

A material that can easily flow is called a fluid.

A substance that can easily flow?

A substance that can easily flow is called a fluid. Fluids can include liquids, such as water or oil, as well as gases like air. These substances take the shape of their container and can be poured or moved easily.

What is a substance that can easily flow is a(n)?

A substance that can easily flow is a fluid. Fluids can be both liquids and gases that have the ability to move and adapt to the shape of their container. Examples include water, air, and oil.

What is an example of viscostiy?

Viscosity is "resistance to flow". Anything that doesn't flow very easily has a higher viscosity level. Oil would be example.

Why wont crude oil flow easily?

Many crude oils flow very easily, but this is not true in all cases. I will address the problem of oil flowing from the bottom of the well to surface. Sometimes, the reservoir rock is too tight (insufficient permeability) to allow the oil to flow at substantial rates. The well must be stimulated, frequently with acid or hydraulic facturing. The oil may be too viscous to flow. This is a common problem if the oil density is less than 15 degrees API. Crude oil is a complex mixture of many compounds. Strong cohesive forces (atttractive forces among molecules) result in high viscosity. The oil may be heated using steam to reduce the viscosity. Steam flooding is common in California. Wax and asphaltene precipitation may also prevent oil from flowing. You may find more links on this topic by doing an internet search.

Why does oil flow?

Oil flows due to its low viscosity and ability to conform to the shape of its container. This allows it to move easily through pipelines, wells, and machinery. Additionally, oil flow can be influenced by factors such as pressure differentials and gravity.

What happens to the time taken for the oil to flow through the funnel as its temperature increases?

As the temperature of the oil increases, its viscosity decreases, allowing it to flow more easily. Consequently, the time taken for the oil to flow through the funnel decreases with rising temperature. This relationship is due to the reduction in internal friction among the oil molecules at higher temperatures. Thus, warmer oil flows faster compared to cooler oil.

Does not flow easily water solid gas?

A solid does not flow easily.

Can you use 15w 40 oil in your 2002 Chevy Malibu?

No. That oil is too thick and it wont flow to the top of the motor very well. It may work for a while but you will be slowly wearing out the lifters, etc. I wouldn't do it.

Something that wont let electric flow through it is an?

Insulator. Insulators are materials that do not allow electric currents to pass through them easily because they have high resistance to the flow of electricity. Examples of insulators include rubber, plastic, and glass.

Which liquids are insulators?

Some examples of liquids that are good insulators include oil, pure water, and silicone oil. These liquids have high resistance to electrical conductance, meaning they do not allow electricity to flow through them easily.

Why does oil become runny when heated up?

When oil is heated, its molecules gain energy and move faster, causing the oil to become less viscous and more runny. The increase in temperature decreases the oil's viscosity, making it flow more easily.
