do you have to reset computer after changing battery in 2003 745li
WHOA! This is a trick question. The computer should not need resetting after replacing a battery. The first step in any procedure requires you to disconnect the battery. This is so the computer doesn't receive any false codes while repairing the vehicle. Thus replacing the battery should have cleared any stored codes during the swap. If your car is throwing a check engine light, there is a sensor problem and you'll need a diagnostic code reader to retrieve it.
To reset the oil change light on a Mitsubishi Galant, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times within five seconds. After that, turn the ignition off and then start the engine to ensure the light is reset. If the light remains on, repeat the process.
There is nothing to reset. The computer will function normally when you connect the battery again.
