Unlikely. A faulty IAC will give you poor, erratic idle speed.
my 2002 volvo s-40 is miss firing and it is alleged that the fault is from the idle air control valve. how can i clean the valve?
Wat controls the idle on that type of car its a sensor called a idle control termo valve witch its controlled by the antifreeze temperature and air. it has two small hoses under the throwel you wont miss it . And if u not sure go to auto zone and ask for the idle control valve its a black sensors in and out inlet and out let
under the throttle body. Has a green sensor attached to it. Can't miss it.
it maybe out of timing or the valve seat is leacking use a compression tester to find out if is the valve leak
It may be a EGR valve issue. This valve is normally closed at idle and opens at about 40mph.
A Volvo 240 may miss at idle due to several factors, including a faulty spark plug or ignition coil, which can lead to incomplete combustion. Additionally, issues with the fuel delivery system, such as a clogged fuel filter or failing fuel pump, can cause irregular fuel supply. Vacuum leaks in the intake manifold or issues with the idle air control valve can also disrupt the air-fuel mixture, resulting in a rough idle. Regular maintenance and diagnostics can help identify and resolve these issues.
More than likely the Idle Air Control (IAC) is defective.
It's the pcv valve (pressure control valve), and it's located on top of the engine block to the right hand side, can't miss it.
Generally if the spark control module on an engine is bad, the car will run roughly. It will likely miss and die at low idle speeds.
a stuck valve or bad plug or plug wire, or bad cap and rotor to include a cracked or missing vacum hose will make any engine miss.
timing off, bad plug or wire. Stuck valve
Birth control pills can make you miss your period, but I do not think you can loose your baby.
