Maybe it is out of antifreeze? If older car, maybe you need the radiator and heater flushed.

Your car shouldn't "burn" antifreeze. If it actually is "burning" antifreeze then chances are you have a blown/leaking head gasket or possibly a cracked engine block which allows antifreeze to enter the combustion chambers. If your antifreeze is just disappearing then it is probably leaking out from somewhere. Possible leak areas to check out would be the radiator hoses, heater hoses, radiator, water pump, and the heater core. Most of the time if the heater core is leaking you'll be able to smell the antifreeze inside the car while the engine is running and the heater is on.

That is probably antifreeze steam. Your heater core is a small radiator used to heat your car. The engine heats the antifreeze and circulates it through the heater core. Your blower blows heat through the core (radiator) into the car, and warms you. If the core gets a small leak, it will put out steam.

Flush and clean your heater radiator wich is located inside the car. No that is incorrect. All you have to do is add antifreeze to your reservoir keep adding it till you get heat. You may have to let your car sit awhile on the on position. I know this is your problem because it works in the warmer weather. Unless your thermostat is stuck and the heater was just blowing air off your motor but I doubt that. Make sure you add enough antifreeze though. You never add when your vehicle is hot and if you add in radiator make sure car is on. If you have to much water in it to add antifreeze there is a screw under radiator to release water from radiator. GOODLUCK
