yes
This is a very general answer, as I don't know what "running bad" means. I would start by changing the oil filter and filling it with new oil. I find that quaker state is the best. Next, I would change the spark plugs. Bad spark plugs and low oil can often cause a car to jerk and shake whether your driving or just idling.
Sounds like a misfire caused by electric supply to plugs.
check your fuel pump, alot of magnas had faulty fuel pumps and due to your car stalling and splattering would be due to the fuel pump.
if the spark plugs are black because your car is running too rich. your plugs are fouled.
Could be a problem with one of the coils. It has 4
Engine is running extremely rich.
Spark plugs need to be changed. had the same problem and it disappeared when I replaced the plugs.
Possibly in need a new spark plugs... I had a Honda that did this, and new plugs,it was running like new....
No. The spark plugs are responsible for igniting the fuel in the cylinders. If you start yanking them out, the engine is going to stop running. This is covered in the book Things That Dummies Do.
Bad plugs or plug wires.
Was the truck running OK before the plugs were changed? If ok before the plugs were changed then I would recheck the plug gap & check the plug wires. It is easy to damage the carbon fiber inside the wires. If they are old say around 40.000 miles I would change them. If truck was running rough before plugs were changed I would look at timing & vaccuum. Also cap & rotor. The converter can be a problem with rough engine perform. Check for bad gas.
Yes, when idling and driving.
