Snug the Joiner.
In Act 1, Scene 2 of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," the workers are introduced as a group of tradesmen who are preparing a play for the Duke's upcoming wedding. The workers and their respective professions are: Bottom (weaver), Peter Quince (carpenter), Snug (joiner), Flute (bellows-mender), Snout (tinker), and Starveling (tailor).
Snug plays the lion. Although he is afraid that he will not be able to learn a part, being "slow of study", and although he is assured that he will have "nothing but roaring" to say, he ends up memorizing and saying a long prologue explaining that he is not really a lion so the ladies need not be afraid. In most productions, he does a good job of this, proving that many people are a lot better at learning lines and acting than they think.
The characters in Act I Scene 2 are collectively known as the "rude mechanicals" (that's a quotation from the play) and consist of Peter Quince, Nick Bottom, Francis Flute, Snug, Snout and Starveling. They are planning to get up an amateur play to entertain Theseus on his wedding day.
Leaving aside Ringo Starr, who actually did play the part, I think George W. Bush would be interesting in the role.
Nick Bottom the Weaver, Francis Flute the Bellows Mender, Peter Quince the carpenter (the playwright and director), Tom Snout the tinker, Robin Starveling the Tailor, and Snug, the joiner.
The Joiner in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is Peter Quince. He is the leader of the group of amateur actors who are rehearsing to perform a play for Theseus and Hippolyta's wedding. Quince is responsible for organizing and directing the group's performance.
In "A Midsummer Night's Dream," the young lovers Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius meet in the forest. They become entangled in a mix-up influenced by the fairy king Oberon and his mischievous servant Puck.
Sailors' Snug Harbor was created in 1833.
