If there is a misfire, yes but it will bring up a code for a misfire. There is no code for blown head gasket. Symptoms of a blown head gasket are white smoke from the exhaust, misfire, coolant mixed with the oil which will produce an over full condition, loss of coolant with no apparent leak, a white foamy substance on the underside of the oil fill cap, air bubbles escaping from the radiator, and engine overheating.
You will have to remove the head, inspect the gasket for breaks, check the head for flatness, and have a machine shop test the head. You will have to remove the head, inspect the gasket for breaks, check the head for flatness, and have a machine shop test the head.
Did you just change the head gasket or did you take the head to a machine shop to be checked? If you didn't take the head to machine shop the most likely answer is the head is warped and not allowing new gasket to seal properly. It's possible that the machine shop can redeck the head and it will be fine. Hope this is helpful!!!
Antifreeze in your oil is symptomatic of a blown head gasket. If your head gasket is blown you may have warped your head ( and possibly cracked it ). The fix for this is to remove the head and take it to a machine shop and to replace it along with a new head gasket.
The head will need to be inspected at a machine shop. They can tell you if it is warped or cracked.
To tell if the head is cracked, you have to remove it from the car, so you will replace the head gasket, anyway. Take the head to a machine shop and have it magnafluxed to see if it's cracked.
You will not know until your remove the head. You have to remove the head in order to replace the gasket and once you have the head removed have it magna fluxed at a machine shop. That will reveal any cracks.
Obviously you will have to replace the headgasket. Depending on the engine type and configuration, it may be a major process. Once the head has been removed you should take it to a machine shop to have it "planed", meaning that if the head gasket blew the head is probably warped and you have to do something to make it flat again. It can be out just a couple thousandths of an inch, something that you couldn't even detect, and that would be enough to cause the head gasket to leak. If you don't have experience with this, take it to a reputable mechanic.
the head facing differences&water hols is blocked .....
cost me $200 for labour and 20 bucks for the gasket and new oil and filter also if the head is warped it will cost extra to machine it
You cannot determine this until you remove the heads. Either way the heads must be removed and the gasket replaced. After removing the head you need to have it inspected by a machine shop.
It COULD mean a blown head gasket. Have it checked out.
Not necessarily. However, you should always have a qualified machine shop resurface the head for you whenever you replace a head gasket. While resurfacing the head, the machine shop technician will be able to examine the valves, seats and stem seals and be able to tell you what additional work needs to be done.
