It will start but can't run for long without one. The serpitine belt drives the alternator, water pump, air conditioner and other important units to keep the engine running. Without the belt the engine will overheat very quickly and the battery will run down.
you can for a limited amount of time. without the belt your battery will die, and cause your car to die
Yes you could. That belt is only for the AC.
tell them you want a belt for your car with out compressor. from harmonic balancer to wat ever else is running on your belt..
I believe the AC belt also runs the Alternator in the earlier sebrings, if that is the case, I would highly recommend that you not operate the car without the belt. What year is the car? The car is a '95 coupe...but I have since learned the AC belt only runs the AC...so you can safely remove it and the car runs fine and silently now...thanks for the help and I hope my info helps someone else.
You aren't likely to drive anywhere with a broken timing belt because the engine will not run. Can you tow the car? Of course.
NO your car will run hot and seriously damage your motor, it will also keep from charging your battery. Suggest you take your car to a mechanic for repairs.
If I understand the question. It is not good to run the car without the belt on the alternator. It will drain your battery and damage your battery. You usually have 20-30 miles running on the battery without any recharge without any power on.
No a car cannot run without the alternator installed. All the components in a car have their specific function and any missing piece will cause the car not to run.
No it can not. If the belt is missing that could cause it to run hot.
car wont run if the belt is broken ! Run a compression test.
Yes.
If you can drive the car, the timing belt isn't broken. An engine will not start or run with a broken cam belt.
