Yes!you can change auto locking hubs to manual lock outs!you can get every thing you need at any auto parts!you also have to have a conversion kit which you can also get at the auto parts store!the cost is around $125-$150 bucks

The best way to repair an auto locking hub is to throw it away and get manual hubs. You will get better mileage and when you lock them in you know the hubs are locked in.
Stop truck,put 4x4 lever in 2 wd,put transmission in reverse and back up about 3 feet and you will hear it click,then you are in 2wd.
Get a Haynes Manual, A Chilton Manual. You can get them at Autozone, Advance Auto, or Napa. They Run under $20. And they are very helpful.

jack up front end and lock in the hub, when you spin the tire by hand you should see the axle shaft spin. If it does not spin it is not locking in. if it has the auto/manual hub you can check the manual part the same but for the auto part you would need a hand held vacuum pump to test.
