Yes, you can disable the warning chime on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am by locating the chime module, which is typically found under the dashboard. You can either disconnect the module or remove the specific wire that triggers the chime when the door is opened with the key in the ignition. However, be cautious as this may affect other warning sounds in the vehicle. Always consult your owner's manual or a professional mechanic for guidance.
I'm not aware of such a part. Chime and warning functions related to the seat belts are controlled by the SEC/timer module under the dash, which is piggybacked to the TCM bracket.
The chime module is located underneath the left side of the dash right abve the fuse box.
There is no actual "chime" for the backup warning. The chime is generated by the radio just like the "KEY IN IGNITION" or the "HEADLAMPS ON" chime. The Rear Parking Assist Moudle sends a signal to the BCM which requests the proper chime for the Radio to produce in the speaker(s).
The warning chime is on the instrument cluster. It needs to be disassembled to get to, and it cannot be disabled because it is tied in to the instrument cluster.
The chime module is a rather large white relay box located under the dash below the glove box.
Yes, it should be located under dash on drivers side or on passengers side under dash to the right of the console
plug the seatbelt in.. the warning stops then ;-)
The chime module is under the dash on the right of the steering column. To disable the Key-in ignition warning chime simply cut the Black/Pink wire. Its a 7 pin harness going into a large black box. Easy test is to put your key in, open the door and hold the black box with the wire harness still attached next to your ear. Then simply cut the wire to quiet it.
If the chime won't stop on your Chevy Silverado, you can remove the chime fuse in order to make it stop. Open the fuse panel and choose the fuse that is marked 'chime module.'
