Buyer's Remorse is what this is called. Some states give you up to 3 days to RESCIND the sale or more usually, the LOAN. I should think 24 hours would be a pretty universal limit. Be prepared for real reluctance and hard selling from the dealer to keep you in the car. BUT in the end, the dealer will NOT want to shove it down your throat. Take the car back IMMEDIATELY and do NOT drive it off the lot again. Walk off the lot and leave the keys to the car on the desk of the receptionist if you have to. IF you had a trade in, chances are IT IS GONE, because wholesalers quite often make their purchases the same day. If you are really fast though, you MIGHT get your trade back. Don't be surprised if you lose fees like title, registration, etc. IF NECESSARY go to a lawyer.
Yes, the dealer can cancel the contract but it is within 10 days of the date on the purchase contract.
What makes you think you can just return the car back to the dealer? There is no return law on the purchase of an automobile. The cooling off period law only applies to unsolicited purchases and not to the purchase of a vehicle. You bought it, you own it.
You cannot return a car you bought. It is a myth that the Buyers Remorse Law applies to the purchase of a vehicle. It does not.
No! It is a myth that the cooling off period law applies to the purchase of an automobile. It does not.
Zero days unless the dealer has a return policy the Act of 1974 specifically excludes car sales from any "cooling off period". The sale is final when you drive away.
Look at your rental agreement. It spells it out.
You cannot return it. The buyers remorse law does not apply to the purchase of a new or used vehicle. You bought the car and you now own it.
No, unless you discussed this with the dealer before purchase and you have it in writing.
There is no cooling off period on the purchase of an automobile. Once you buy the car, you own it, and you will only be able to return it if the dealer agrees. They will never agree on a new car purchase, but on a used car they may, if you ask very nicely and buy a different car from the same dealer. So, ask the dealer and be very, very, nice about it. Legally they do not have to do anything.
Read the contract that you signed when you made the purchase
