Check out that graph, the car does level off at around $30,000 but that's more than $20,000 less than purchase price.

Civics, Accords, Corollas on the other hand lose much less, and even can go UP in value depending on how much you paid for it.

Cars are not an investment, just a means of getting from point A to point B and in what kind of style you do it in. NO, they do not hold any better than any other vehicle on the road. This may be a statement used by a salesperson or manager to close a deal with you.
