Does increasing the diameter of your exhaust pipe leading from the engine increase exhaust flow and therefore lessen engine burden causing an increase in horsepower?
The answer for that is yes, but is negligible. Maybe 3-15 horsepower at best.
Little if any
eight hp
about 5 - 10 hp
Cold air intake, nitrous 75 hp system. exhaust, don't forget to beef your tranny, add a transgo shift kit.
Add a turbo charger, but be sure add a gauge to track the exhaust gas temperature. My father had a 4020 that dynoed over 140 hp for many years.
Better air intake, better exhaust, install headers, change out your fuel injectors, add a bolt-on turbocharger, have the ECM reprogrammed.
The single exhaust V8 for 1987 had about 150 hp. The 1988 with dual exhaust was 160 hp. V6 ?
Changing carbs probably wouldn't add much if anything, but headers and dual exhaust could give 10 hp.
Cheapest is to install a cold air intake and Magnaflow cat back exhaust. Should net at least 15 more hp.
They are like slip on exhaust. They allow the bike to emit exhaust easier. They also give your bike a new sound. If they are racing baffles they usually make your bike sound louder & meaner. They do add a few HP usually depending on which baffles you get.
probably about 30 hp i would know bcuz i own exactley that
Add a cold air intake. (4-8 hp gain) Change your exhaust. (Mufflers, 6-15 hp gain / full catback system 20-40 hp gain) High performance wires and plugs. (4-12 hp gain) Underdrive pulleys (8-15 hp gain) Super chip (10-20 hp gain)
