no the freon is strictly for making cold when the a/c is being used in the summertime and what makes the heater core works when heat is needed is the coolant
No there is no freon in the heater core just antifreeze. The heater core is nothing more than a tiny radiator.
The heater is like a small radiator(heater core) usually located in the dash. The fan blows air through it and heats the car. There are two heater hoses that carry coolant to & from the heater core.
No, two separate systems.
Technically, Yes.But you can removed the heater core without removing the HVAC unit and the AC Lines if you cut the old heater core lines at the top with a hack saw. Then the core will slide straight up and out of the HVAC unit. The new heater core has swivel mounted hoses that can be placed in the old positions when reassembling the dash.Yes you will need to completely drain the freon system to replace the heater core and do not cut the case, this will destroy the a/c and heater housing and you will have a water leak on the passengers side that you will not be able to stop.........
The heater core is blocked. The heater core works of circulation of the radiator fluid, while the A/C works off ciruclation of the freon.
You will be better off if you buy a service manual or borrow one from a library. You have to drain the freon, remove the entire dash, remove the heater/ac housing, and dissassemble the housing to access the heater core.
NO. Bypass the heater core by connecting the Inlet & Outlet hoses going to the heater core together. Do not plug either hose.
There is no heater fuse, the heater works by having hot coolant run threw a heater core that's inside the dash, then when you turn the heat on, the blower motor blows threw the heater core, sending the hot air inside the vehicle.
The heater core is still having hot fluid running through it. Check to insure that the shut off is stopping the flow through the heater core.
The heater core is inside the car under the dash on passenger side. You must remove all freon from the a/c system with a recovory machine. Then drain coolant. Heater hoses and a/c lines must be disconnected from the engine compartment. Then the dash assembly must be pulled back there is a black box on passenger side of car under the dash. It contains the heater core and the a/c evaporator.
This process could take up to 3 hours. The Heater core is best flushed if you are having problems with flow. Is this an option? F. Garay
yes, you even have to remove some a/c components wich requires draining you freon unfortunately
