Yes in some cases. But will cause problems in the future. Such a clogged coolant passages in your engine and other places. Best to replace the bad part and find the root cause.
YOUR WASTING PEPPER. It won't work. Replace the radiator.
IF THE LEAK IS FROM THE RADIATOR, THERE IS NO FIX EXCEPT TRY THE RADIATOR STOP LEAK CANS OF FIX....IF THAT DON'T WORK, GET A NEW RADIATOR. THAT'S ALL YOU CAN DO!!!!!!!!!!!
I had the same problem on a 1994 525i. Replace the radiator.
You install "stop leak" in the radiator per the MFG directions.Dont use barsleak use a chemical called therma weld it work perfect for me its about 300$ and worth it!!!!
Yes, that is a very old temporary fix for a radiator with a slight leak. Although it has been shown to actually work, I would not recommend it. If you have a leak, have it repaired and do not use any type stop leak. They are for emergency use only! * The egg has the potential to clog parts of the radiator, reducing it's effectiveness. As said above, the egg is for EMERGENCY and SHORT TERM use only.
It will "work" but is never a good idea. Stop leak not only stops external leaks, but also plugs small internal passages in engines and radiators, which can lead to overheating.
It depends on where the leak is and what you mean by patch. If the leak in in the radiator matrix simply putting something over it will not work. There are products which can be added to the coolant as a temporary measure. A radiator can be repaired by brazing or welding but if it has got to the stage where one part is corroded and leaking it is best to change the radiator.
In many cases, yes. One of the many radiator "stop-leak" products, put into the radiator will normally do the job.Follow the manufacturer's instructions and add the stop-leak product, turn the heater on and set it to it's hottest of settings. Doing so will open the heater control valve, allow the maximum amount of radiator water to reach the heater coreand let the stop-leak product to do its work. The way most of these products work is, they cool and solidify when they reach the leak and are suddenly exposed to cooler air. Just don't forget to turn the heater on- if the control valve won't allow the heated radiator contents to get to the heater core, it won't do any good.Stop leak products sometimes do more harm than good. They can clog thermostats or reduce efficiency of radiator by reducing heat transfer ability. A quick fix is bypassing. Simply connect the two hoses together.
the fan can be installed backwards and moving the air through the radiator in the wrong direction. The radiator or cooling ports can be plugged if a stop leak has been used on the engine.the water pump might not be working.
If you are only leaking coolant into the exhaust and use the type with copper in it, then yes, it should stop the leak. If coolant is getting into the oil or exhaust is getting into the radiator then no, none of them will do any good.
almost never
try using power sterring stop leak, if they doesnt work, find out what is leaking, and replace the worn hose or broken seal
