The case is attached by the base with 3 nuts. these nuts can be accessed by removing the triangular trim on the inside of the car at the front of the window. if the nuts are attached and the mirror is hanging then the base is broken and my attempts to glue the case back together have been poor at best. Usually the case is supplied by the manufacturer as a part of the mirror assembly.
