I don't have an exact answer on price but I know that tinted glass is expensive and reflective tinted glass very expensive. Most people opt for a film that is applied to the glass on the inside of the window. You can get tinted and reflective film professionally installed for half the price, maybe less than half. And if you are not dealing with very large windows, you can buy this film in home improvement stores and it is easy to install. There is no adhesive. You wet the window and set the film in place and smooth it down like you would wallpaper. There is a learning curve, but not much of one. The film stays in place until you want to remove it, then it peels right off. Do a little research on films. That's also how they do after market window tint on car windows.

window on what? a car? a house? it all depends on how big what its one the brand you name it.. if its a car tell your insurance and they will do it for you, same with your house..
yes, absolutely. it has to be done by the dealer, which i wouldn't take my care within 10 ft. of one, or by a reliable repair shop. i had mine done this year by my repair shop that specializes in foreign car repair. you don't have to get a canvas top from BMW, there are many sites that sell quality sail cloth tops if not the same, even better the the oem top. the top comes with the window too but you can just replace the window by itself as well. BMW doesnt make a tinted window for the z3 but again, z3solution.com sells just the tinted window if you prefer that.
That depends on how much you want to spend. A new window can be quite expensive, but a USED window can be relatively inexpensive and in general, a good way of repairing a problem. Glass doesn't typically "wear out", so a used side window will function as well as a much more expensive new one. I recently purchased a 1994 Saturn drivers side rear window for $35. It functions as well as a new one and after it has been installed, it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between new and used.
