The torque settings for the Massey Ferguson 240 can vary depending on the specific component being serviced. Generally, for the cylinder head bolts, the torque specification is around 65-70 ft-lbs (88-95 Nm). Always refer to the specific service manual for the most accurate and detailed torque specifications for various parts of the tractor.
To remove the timing cover on a Massey Ferguson 65, first, ensure that the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Drain the engine oil and remove any accessories or components obstructing the cover, such as the fan, water pump, or front engine mounts. Unscrew the bolts securing the timing cover, then gently pry it off, taking care not to damage the gasket or the mating surfaces. Clean the area before reassembly, ensuring all old gasket material is removed.
My father has a early 65 with a 4 barrel carburetor.
On a 1965 Ford F-250 , 390 V8 engine ; The fuel filter will either be in the fuel line near the carburetor , or threaded into the carburetor ( at least that was the way for every carbureted Ford V8 that I have owned )
