For the 1.5L petrol you need to access the filter from underneath. Drivers side access from above is just about possible but it's a bit too tight to get much purchase on it to remove it and you'll end up bruised and cut. Drain the oil first from the sump before removing the filter.
Jack the car up (use axle stands for safety...) and lie underneath the oil sump which is offset on the driver's side. Looking up you should be able to see the oil filter and be able to access it with a small filter remover tool. Once you've loosened it (this may take some effort if it's old), unscrew the filter by hand (from above if possible to avoid being covered in the oil which will drip out).
Replace with a new filter and hand-tighten. Ensure the sump plug is screwed back in and nice and tight and begin to refill with oil. The 1.5L petrol capacity is 2.7 litres and I used 5W40 semi-synthetic. Check with the dipstick after a couple of minutes to ensure the level is correct, and check underneath to double-check for obvious leaks to ensure everything is screwed back in where it should be.
Done.
