It's probably the sensor on the compressor. It's best to change the whole compressor and drier.
If I change the AC compressor in a car, do I have to change the orifice?
in front of the comp
If it is working fine, and the noise is only when it is disengaged you should only need to change the clutch on the compressor not the entire compressor. If there is room to pull the clutch off on the truck, then there is no need to evacuate the refrigerant.
The AC Clutch on that year truck is conected to the compressor, Unfortunately there is no way to separate the both. You must pick up a new compressor if your clutch has failed...
my ac compressor is bad and i want to change it myself how can i do this
No you don't have to change the A/C Compressor.
no, the truck was made to balance the air temp going threw the vech
under the ac compressor
It is either on the compressor, the smaller ac line, or the accumulator.
The ac compressor clutch is mounted on the front of the compressor and is a replaceable part. However depending on the complexity of the clutch change out it may be overall better to change the compressor and clutch together.
