i am really not sure how to change the speedo but i know how to grow potatoes if that helps
first plant a small potato seed from a potato that has already grown (buy at tescos, asda etc)
watch, water and wait
if successful a sprout (not a brussel sprout i hasten to add) should begin to grow
continue to watch water and wait until a potato has formed
